Well just like everyone, my new years revolutions haven't gone to plan... the 'no chocolate' one definately impossible to achieve! But i have been keeping my self busy with various bits and pieces...
During January i have kick started my radio show on 103fm The Eye, normally on tuesdays 2-4, you can always listen on the internet! I thoroughly enjoy radio presenting and am learning a little more every week.
I have also been involved in hair shows over the country with some of the other Miss England girls for Great Lengths, these were thoroughly enjoyable and i had my hair done on stage by celeb hairdresser Michael Douglas. Along with these shows i also took part in a charity catwalk fashion show for Unicef in London, which was amazing and put together by Eric Way and several other designers.
Towards the end of January i had a fantastic party held for me at Studio Valbonne in London. Lots of my friends, family and past and present Miss England contestants came and we had a great night there.
I also attended a charity designer evening at my old university DMU in Leicester where John Lewis provided a catwalk collection for models to showcase. The show itself was out together by two girls, one of which is a Miss England contestant.
Along with plenty of events I also did a photoshoot as Marilyn Monroe in order to promote the Miss England supported charity Beat, whom deal with eating disorder victims and families throughout the UK. The shoot was to help launch the campaign to promote curves and help women/men to be happy with their own bodies.
At the start of Feb, i was able to enjoy an AMAZING 3 week holiday on Ko Samui, Thailand. My best friend and I flew out and had a fabulous time at the luxury Tongsai Bay resort where we did nothing but just chill out in the very hot weather! White sands and clear seas - paradise!
At the weekend i was involved in video shoot for a pop video which i loved. It was for Jocelyn Brown and is expected to be a new top 20 hit. I was also painted blue by a body painter in the middle of Nottingham! I have also recently started to attend and judge some of the regional finals, such as the North West Beauty Awards and also Miss Warwick and Leamington Spa, and Miss Shropshire so far. All winners were lovely and very well deserved and i am looking forward to meeting new girls at the rest of the regional finals.
I will keep you updated further!
Good luck to all the girls entering the regionals and I will see you all soon!
Love Laura x
